1. Write Well and Write Often

Frequently updating your blog with useful content is the first step to building your blog’s audience. The content you write is what will keep readers coming back for more. Make sure you have something meaningful to say to them and say it often to maintain their interest and keep them loyal.

Furthermore, post frequently to increase the number of chances you have for your blog’s content to be noticed by search engines such as Google or Technorati.

2. Submit Your Blog to Search Engines

Adsense For Domains To Monetize Your Parked Domains.

Adsense publishers now have a new option to increase their income because Google is now offering the Adsense for Domains service for parked domains.

It is basically a service where Adsense publishers can set up Adsense Ads on undeveloped or unused parked domains. The visitors will see a page full of Adsense Ads, links and search results with no content. The publisher gets paid when an Ad is clicked.

Previously, domain owners were using third-party publishers like Sedo, GoDaddy in some cases Chitika’s Domain Cash Parking service to run Ads on unused domains. Now, since Google Adsense for Domains is open for international publishers, unused domain owners have the option to add to their Adsense revenue by setting up Adsense Ads on these domains.

Setting up Adsense For Domains is easy. Just follow these simple steps:

1. Log in to your Adsense account and click “Adsense for Domains” under the “Adsense Setup” tab.

2. Review and accept the Terms and Conditions.

3. Click on “+ Add new domains” and start adding domains (Max 100). Follow the instructions to change the domain registrar settings of your domains.

4. After setting up your domains you’ll have to wait until they get approved. Within 48 hours if and when they are approved, they will moved from the “Pending” to “Active”.

5. Now that your domains have been approved, you can adjust the color, look of your ads and keywords.

Turning Traffic in to Adsense Traffic.

If after running Adsense on your site or blog for quite some time you feel that you are not making as much cash as you could, in most cases you are right. Many of us feel frustrated that we are not generating enough revenue that we expect to do and this is all down to traffic levels as well as Click Through Rates (CTR).

Here are some of the ways you can turn traffic into Adsense traffic:

The first and the foremost thing that you need to do is tune up your site’s contents. While for some people this isn’t an option (for e.g., if you are running a forum it can be a lot harder), most people can make their websites veritable cash cows. Good content creates royal readers who very often returns for more.

To begin with, you should find out and analize what your site’s keywords are. This is a very basic technique in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) also known as keyword density verification. You can use SEO Density Analizer to do this job.

You should then take this list of words and search the Overture Search Inventory or Google AdWords Sandbox to find out what other words could be doing better then what you currently have.

From that point on try to keep your site focused on the things that appear mostly in the keyword suggestions you receive. Try to include those keywords, or at least some related keywords as often as you can in the links on your site.

Because of the way Google AdSense works this is a sure way to increase your earnings because you’ll get better ads in your AdSense banners, similar to how you would get a better Google Page Rank

Try to add new pages to your site as often as you can. This is very important because the more pages you have, the higher the chance that you will get more hits on your ads.

Choosing appropriate Adsense ad formats and placing them at the best location is also very important. Generally the top three Adsense ad formats are: 336×280 large rectangle 300×250 medium rectangle and 160×600 skyscraper.

Make sure you blend the ads by choosing the appropriate colors, as making them different from your site’s content is sure to make visitors regard them as banners which are irrelevant to the site itself.

Position your ads where they will generate the highest amount of revenue is a must. Generally the location is said to be right if it is at the beginning of your site’s actual content, i.e., above the fold.

On pages with a long text body, you might find 160×600 skyscrapers to do better, simply because users get exposed to them for more time. Also, for sites with news or similar items, you might find a good position to be at the bottom of your content, because that’s when people are finished reading your story and are looking for something else to do.

You should use more AdSense units if you have a lot of text on your pages, but remember not to overdo it because you might find that you will get a lot lower CTR and lower revenues then you were getting in the first place by employing this technique inappropriately. You can add as many as three similar ad units, so use them wisely.

Use the Google AdSense Preview Tool and analyze what ads would get served on your page as it be a very handy testing mechanism.

Just make sure you respect the AdSense policy regarding click fraud. As a pointer you could place a picture next to your adds, just make sure to leave some room in between in order to make sure this isn’t regarded as encouraging visitors to click the link.

Of course there are more ways to increase AdSense traffic from your site, but these should serve as a good starting point for income maximization.

How to upload a blogger template???

Many people make the usual mistake when installing a new blogger template (XML format). Most of the problems faced while installing a new template are caused by the blogger widgets (Page Elements) that you’ve spent time setting up in your previous template. Almost all Blogger templates available for download on this blog are in the new Blogger .xml template format so if you’ve downloaded the template from here, it’s going to be lot easier to follow our instructions.

Step #1 – Backup Your Current Template:

Backup your current Template just in case you make a mistake. This is very important so you can always go back (click on the screenshot to the left to see exactly how this is done). You’ll want to navigate to the “Template —->Edit HTML” section of Blogger and then look for the “Before editing your template, you may want to save a copy of it “.

Here, click on the “Download Full Template“ and save it somewhere easy to find later on your computer. We are not responsible for any mistakes you make in applying your new Blogger template. Once you have saved this .xml file onto your computer, move on to step #2.

Step #2 – Take a Screenshot of Your Page Elements

This next step isn’t necessary but I like to do it anyhow. Take a screenshot your “Page Elements” page just so you know exactly what widgets (Page Elements) you had before applying the new template (an example of the exact page you should take a screenshot of is in the image to the left). If you blow away all your widgets and you don’t remember which ones you had, this screenshot will at least help you to remember.

Step #3 – Upload Your New Blogger Template

Now it’s time to upload the new Blogger template from your computer. You’ll want to navigate to the “Template —> Edit HTML” section of Blogger and then look for the “Upload a template from a file on your hard drive” text. To the right of that you’ll see two buttons. First, you’ll click on “Browse” and navigate to the new .xml Blogger template on your computer and click “Open”. Then you click on the “Upload” button and cross your fingers.

At this point Blogger is attempting to apply the new .xml Blogger template to your blog. After it’s done, you’ll get a message stating that the upload and new template was applied successfully (in that case you’re done!) or more likely in my case, you’ll get a red error message that states something like:

Widgets are about to be deleted

Please confirm that the following widgets should be deleted. All the widgets’ configuration data will be lost.

Now you can go and backup the widgets or if they are not so important just click the

Voila!!!! you just changed the look and feel of your blog…

A word on widget backup :

You need not be worrying about backing up all the widgets, most of them are like Labels, Categories, Profile widgets, etc. which are available in Blogger by default.You need to worry about the html / javascript widget.Before changing the template, copy the scripts from this widget and save as a text file. Later, after successfully uploading your new template, reinstall these codes using the same html / javascript widget.
